Production Coordinator training with The Production Guild

In September, I was lucky enough to have been selected from a number of applicants to get the opportunity to train with The Production Guild of Great Britain, on a course for Production Coordinators.

Due to COVID, the course was run via Zoom, hosted by HETV Production Manager Imogen Gay, along with guest speakers from SAG-AFTRA, Solas Mind, Cosmopolitan Production Services, DHL, Albert and First Option- all leaders in their field and well known throughout the industry.

We covered everything a Coordinator would need to know, including crew & cast contracts, child licensing, filming abroad, setting up a production office and what to do when you wrap, amongst many other things.

As an Assistant Director, the course was incredibly useful for me- I brushed up on things I already knew, and learnt a lot of new things too! All presented and explained perfectly by Imogen and the guest speakers.

I recommend keeping an eye on The Production Guild's website and signing up to their mailing list- their courses are worth their weight in gold, and a great way of making new friends and industry contacts!

It really was jam packed week and worth every penny, plus a got a lovely certificate AND 6 months Guild membership to boot!
