Why you need a Virtual Assistant as a Film & TV freelancer

The film industry is an amazing thing to be involved in, but ask any member of a crew and they'll tell you about it's long hours. Although it's the best industry in the world (in my opinion), it is tough! The days are long, you can spend weeks having to be nocturnal for night shoots, and spend a lot of time away from home on location, leaving little time to be able to catch up on sleep, to spend with friends and family and have a bit of 'you' time.

When I was working as an AD, my friends slowly started to give up asking me if I wanted to go out, or meet up after work. Their 'normal' jobs started at 9 and finished at 5 Monday to Friday. They thought I was making excuses to not see them because no one works those crazy hours right?! They just didn't get it.

I missed out on so much because I was working, and when I wasn't working I was catching up on either admin or sleep

Free time is so precious when you're working, and I know that the last thing you want to be doing on your days off is admin, invoicing or worrying about something you might have forgotten to do because you've been so wrapped up in your job.
